The new 2018 Ford Escape helps make the life of easier in Mishawaka Indiana, especially during winter! It starts with available Intelligent Access with push-button start, but that’s only scratching the surface when it comes to the innovative convenience features these all-new crossovers have to offer. You want to carry lots of cargo? That’s no problem in the new 2018 Escape models at Jordan Ford. The rear seats fold to provide up to 68 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Accessing the rear of the vehicle is also a breeze, thanks to Escape’s available hands-free, foot-activated liftgate. And to help you while slowly backing up the vehicle, a rearview camera comes standard while there’s also a handy Reverse Sensing System that is available.

Fold both rear seatbacks in your 2018 Ford Escape for a flat load surface and 68 cubic feet of total cargo space behind the front seats. Or fold down either of the 60/40 split rear seat backs when you still need room for a passenger. If you’re carrying items such as luggage, leave both seat backs up and you’ll have 34 cubic feet of cargo space. For more space, available roof rack side rails with available crossbars [1] allow you to carry more cargo on the inside, especially items that don’t transport easily inside the vehicle.

Escape Allows Owners to do Everything

Without question, the new 2018 Escape models at Jordan Ford are some extremely capable crossover SUVs. Besides their versatile seating/cargo combinations, these innovative Escape models were engineered to deliver the performance that your Mishawaka, Indiana lifestyle requires. Depending on the Escape model you choose, you have a 2.5L I-4 with intake variable cam design, a 1.5L turbocharged EcoBoost® engine, or a 2.0L Twin-Scroll EcoBoost rated at 245 horsepower [2]. Handling control comes courtesy of standard AdvanceTrac®  with Roll Stability Control,  Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control. For added traction, there’s the available Intelligent 4-Wheel Drive System of the 2018 Ford Escape, and if you need to tow their 2.0L EcoBoost Class II Trailer Tow Package provides a maximum tow rating of up to 3,500 lbs!

The available Intelligent 4WD System of the 2018 Ford Escape continuously monitors traction and road conditions every 16 milliseconds. It can then transfer torque from front wheels to rear wheels as needed in order to to ensure a precise blend of both handling and traction at all times. 2018 Escape Titanium models at Jordan Ford have a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost® Class II Trailer Tow Package. This package is also available on 2018 Ford Escape SE and SEL models with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine for a maximum 2,000-lb. rating. Trailer sway control technology, auxiliary transmission oil cooler and paddle shifters are all included in the package. When trailer sway is detected, the system automatically takes measures, such as applying precise braking or reduced engine torque, to help keep both the vehicle and the trailer under control [3].

Ford Escape’s Curve Control feature can sense if you’re going too fast and intuitively slow the vehicle down using throttle reduction and anti-lock braking. Once you’re into the curve, G-forces tend to transfer more traction to the outside tires than to the inside ones. Torque Vectoring Control enhances this traction by transferring torque to the wheels that have the most grip, reducing understeer and forcing the front end to hug the inside of the curve [3]. A standard feature on these all-new 2018 Escape models, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC), uses two gyroscopic sensors to monitor yaw and roll rates on these innovative crossover SUVs. This allows AdvanceTrac with RSC to help you maintain control whenever it detects wheelslip, understeer, oversteer or roll motion. It also helps maintain control in various road conditions such as ice, gravel or rain. AdvanceTrac with RSC also features Curve Control, which will slow the vehicle down when it senses that it’s going too fast for a particular curve [3]. Trailer Sway Control is also included in the Class II Trailer Tow Prep Package.
